Prince William defied his wife Kate Middleton’s wishes when he took a Triumph motorcycle for a spin on Tuesday. The 35-year-old prince, in head-to-toe leather, wore a helmet for safety and test drove the latest Triumph Tiger 1200.
When asked about how the ride was, he said it was “very nice” but “not long enough.”
The prince told World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea in 2016 the reason why he’d given up his love for riding.
“We talked about his bikes and the fact that he has put it on the back-burner a little bit because of his children now,” Rea revealed.
In 2008, William and his brother Prince Harry joined a motorcycle rally across Africa to raise money for charity. The younger prince is also a known motorbike fan.
The prince once owned a Ducati motorbike, which he was last seen riding the night before his 2011 wedding. He also has owned two Triumphs through the years.
“I don’t know what it is about bikes, but I’ve always had a passion for motorbikes ever since I was very small,” the prince once said when he was still single.
