WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- Space Exploration Technologies Corp., most popularly known as SpaceX, launched its final mission of the year on Friday.
- The Hawthorne-based aerospace manufacturer sent a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base and into the vast California sky.
- The rocket left an unusual white tail leaving people of Los Angeles into thinking that what they saw was something out of this world.
The Pentagon just admitted that it had a secret program used to investigate unidentified flying objects. The government spent $22 million for extra-terrestrial investigation. After 70 years, Area 51 was known public.
At around 5:30 p.m. Friday, people of Los Angeles thought they witnessed a ‘UFO sighting’ and even assumed their city was in the midst of an alien invasion.
However, the ‘UFO’ has been identified. It was a Falcon 9 rocket which SpaceX launched out of an air force base. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk made a joke on Twitter saying that the jellyfish-like shape in the sky was a “nuclear alien UFO from North Korea.” Musk has been vocal about his vision of putting people on a space-bound Megabus and land on Mars.
The Falcon 9 rocket launch was an amazing and spectacular sight lighting up the dark sky. Numerous people pointed their smartphone cameras skyward, taking a picture of the phenomenon. They thought they captured the first sign of an alien apocalypse.
The Irdium-4 rocket was shot about 150 miles from the City of Angels.
Officials had warned the people earlier and even announced that the launch can be seen across Southern California and elsewhere on the western half of the U.S., according to the Los Angeles Times.
There was also a live webcast for people who are fascinated by rockets. Still, most people got confused and panicked when they saw the SpaceX rocket.
Billionaire Elon Musk tweeted on Saturday morning that people along the East Coast can freak out next month. A test launch of that rocket will take place from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
