Willie Murphy is an 82-year-old female bodybuilder living in Rochester, New York. A Maplewood YMCA regular, you can say that she’s a lot stronger than most people her age, or than people younger than her. She has previously won first place awards in her division at theand was named the 2014 Lifter of the Year after winning gold medals in the deadlift, power curl and bench press.
On Thursday night, when an intruder decided to break into her home, he had no idea he’ll be facing the wrath of an award-winning bodybuilder.
WHAM-TV, a local station, reported that an intruder started pounding on Murphy’s door and urging her to call an ambulance as she was getting ready for bed Thursday night. The 82-year-old called the police, but would not let the man in. That made him angry so he busted through the door.
Unfortunately for him, Murphy began to fight back. Quickly, she grabbed a nearby table and attacked the intruder.
“I took that table and I went to working on him,” she told WHAM-TV. “… I’m alone and I’m old, but guess what? I’m tough.”
When the table broke, she he just picked up its metal legs and used them to continue fighting the stranger, making sure he stayed down. After jumping on him a few times, she grabbed a bottle of shampoo and squirted it on his face then started whacking him with a broom.
Murphy, who can actually deadlift 225 pounds, said that the intruder was too heavy for her.
“He wants to get the heck out of there and I’m trying to help him get out of the house, but I can’t move him,” Murphy told WHAM. “He’s dead weight.”
That’s when the police arrived.
“So they come in,” she said. “He’s laying down already because I had really did a number on that man.”
According to WHAM-TV, Murphy does not plan on pressing charges against the home intruder.
