Aaron Rodgers casually announces engagement during MVP speech

WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:

  • Aaron Rodgers was awarded NFL’s MVP for 2020-2021.
  • During his acceptance speech, Rodgers seemed to have dropped the bomb that he is now engaged.
  • Rodgers is known to be in a new relationship with Hollywood star Shailene Woodley.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won National Football League MVP for the third time.

But what surprised the fans more was his acceptance speech, where he casually mentioned that he is engaged.

Rodgers accepted the prestigious award via a recorded speech, which was aired Friday, during the NFL awards night from the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium.

“2020 was definitely a crazy year, filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing memorable moments, 180 straight days of having my nose hairs scraped, playing for very little fans,” Rodgers began his speech.

The NFL superstar then coolly dropped the bomb adding, “I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career.”

Rodgers is reportedly in a new relationship with Hollywood actress Shailene Woodley, who starred in hit movies and series such as “The Fault in Our Stars,” “Divergent,” and HBO’s “Big Little Lies.”

To add to the shock and sheer excitement, Rodgers and Woodley’s relationship is relatively new, which, according to reports, can’t be more than a few months prior to the engagement announcement. It remains unclear, though, exactly how long the two have been dating.

Capping off his acceptance speech, Rodgers seemed to have confirmed his engagement, calling out his “fiancée.”

“I’d like to thank my team off the field, Ryan, Tommy, Len and Rebecca, Adam, Oliver and Emil, Debbie, Jodie Foster, Torpedo, Joey, A.J., Pat, all the boys there, my fiancée. They only gave me a minute to do this, so I’ve got to wrap this up real quick,” Rodgers said.

Although Rodgers didn’t bother to name his fiancée, the fans were quick to point out Woodley, unless it is all part of some elaborate joke from the mischievous prankster MVP.
