WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage has filed for an annulment after his whirlwind marriage to Erika Koike in Las Vegas.
- According to People Magazine, the couple applied for a marriage license Saturday but Cage had filed for annulment by Wednesday.
- TMZ reported that Cage had a fight with his fourth wife just hours after the wedding.
‘Con Air’ actor Nicolas Cage was married for the fourth time on Saturday to his girlfriend of one year — makeup artist Erika Koike. By Wednesday, however, the actor filed for an annulment after being married for just four days.
Court documents obtained by People Magazine say that Cage and Koike applied for a marriage license on Saturday. The couple began dating in April 2018.
Cage’s first marriage was to actress Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001. His second wife was Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, whom he married in August 2002. They filed for divorce in November after being married for about three months. The divorce was finalized in 2004. Apparently, the divorce proceedings lasted longer than their marriage.
Cage’s wife from 2004 to 2016 was Alice Kim, with whom he shares a son, Kal-El, who is now 13 years old. He also has a son, 28-year-old Weston, with former partner Christina Fulton.
When asked to comment about his first two marriages, Cage said: “I don’t really count those two marriages, I don’t think they belong on my record. The real marriage for me was the 14 years I had with Alice and the child we have together.”
The 55-year-old was married for the fourth time on Saturday – the marriage lasted for only four days.
Cage and Koike tried to keep their relationship low-key and away from the public eye although, in April 2018, the couple was seen in Puerto Rico together.
According to PEOPLE, a rep for the actor did not immediately respond to the magazine’s request for comment.
