WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- Bo Cosens and his girlfriend Rachel Sharrock were annoyed by the noise that came from car horns blaring in support of striking school employees at Claymont City Schools.
- The annoyed couple tried to gift the employees with sugar cookies laced with crushed up laxative pills.
- Cosens and Sharrock were arrested and the cookies were confiscated to be tested in a lab.
A couple in Ohio were frustrated by the noise from employees from Claymont City Schools who were on strike. Cars were honking close to their home in support of the protesters. The annoyed pair, 29-year-old Bo Cosens and 25-year-old Rachel Sharrock, were fed up enough to try making sugar cookies laced with laxatives to give to the protesters.
Police received a tip about a video on Cosen’s Facebook page where he complained and ranted about the employees on strike. Sgt. Michael Hickman of the Uhrichsville police told the Canton Repository that the Cosens had made threats to shoot the striking employees.
Apparently, during the Facebook live video, there was a drug transaction going on and Cosen’s girlfriend was crushing up laxative pills and mixing them in with cookie batter. Hickman said, “She’s actually holding up a package of laxative pills, and she’s popping them out of the package.”
Protesters told the police in an interview that they had received the spiked bake treats, however, no one had eaten them. Hickman said that the police were able to confiscate the plate of cookies. They’re now searching for a lab to send the cookies to so they can be tested if they do indeed have laxatives in them.
Tuesday, Cosens and Sharrock were booked in Tuscawaras County jail and were charged with contaminating a substance for human consumption. According to court records, each of them being held on $1 million bonds.
