WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- A couple from Michigan believes that their house is haunted due to several strange occurrences in their home including catching a ghost on camera in their daughter’s bedroom.
- Heather Brough related that she was so spooked to find scratches on her daughter’s face, that she took her and ran to her mother-in-law’s house nearby.
- This was not the first eerie incident in their home; Brough said she heard someone walking around while she was in the shower, and also heard a laughing angry male voice.
After finding unexplainable scratches on their baby’s face, a couple from Michigan spotted a ghostly figure in their daughter’s room in footage caught on a nanny camera.
Joshua Higgins, 30, and Heather Brough, 25, told WXYZ that they really think their home in Highland, Michigan is haunted. They said that they saw a ghost hovering over their Lily’s crib, their one-year-old daughter, in the video.
“It was literally a chill down your spine. Like, — ‘Is this what I just saw?’ factor,” said Higgins.
The couple checked the footage because they wondered how their daughter had gotten the deep “purple scratches” on her cheek after her nap. Brough said that she grabbed her daughter and ran to her mother-in-law’s house after seeing the frightening scratches on her face.
However, this isn’t the only spooky incident that happened at the home. Brough told WXYZ that she heard an ‘angry’ male voice screaming and laughing and footsteps or someone walking around one time while she was in the shower. She said that they are so scared ‘it’ could do something else because one morning she felt like someone was holding her neck when she woke up.
The guest house where the couple lives is owned by Higgin’s mother, Kris, who stays at the main house nearby. Kris said the house was bought 11 years ago from an old lady who fell down the stairs and died. She also said that an investigator has confirmed that paranormal activity exists in her home.
Although she’s not sure what’s causing the creepy episodes in the guest home, she shared that the old lady’s niece said that the guesthouse was built for her aunt’s schizophrenic brother. In addition, Higgins’ father, Jim Higgins, said that one of the original residents at the house was a man who killed himself by jumping out of the window.
Regardless as to who’s haunting their home, the couple decided to move out and look for another home.
“This is a spirit. I don’t know what its intentions are, but at this point it’s becoming physically harmful,” said Brough.
