WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- Laura Ingraham questioned Chrissy Teigen’s inclusion in Time’s 100 most influential people list and criticized the model’s vocal attacks against Trump’s administration.
- Meanwhile, Teigen had the perfect clapback against the Fox News anchor, whom she accused of being a white supremacist.
- Other celebrities have previously called for Ingraham to be fired, but the network has not yet responded regarding the controversy.
Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham delivered negative comments regarding Chrissy Teigen’s inclusion in Time’s 100 most influential people list during her show on Wednesday.
Ingraham criticized Teigen’s “take on female empowerment” when the latter said women shouldn’t be afraid to say “f— you” more often. Ingraham also mentioned Teigen’s notoriety for “her vicious attacks on President Trump.”
Ingraham read the magazine’s take on the model’s inclusion while making air quotes with her hands. From the profile written by chef Eric Ripert, Ingraham read, “‘All her life Chrissy Teigen has liked to eat. She’s not shy about that — or anything else, really.’” But what Ingraham failed to mention is that Ripert also applauded Teigen’s sense of self.
While Chrissy Teigen is indeed known to be vocal about her opinions, she is also known to come up with the perfect clapbacks. And she is not having Laura Ingraham’s criticism.
Sure enough, the model had the perfect comeback against the host, whom she accused of being a white supremacist. Come Thursday, she retaliated through a series of tweets.
Teigen declared, “When Time comes out with their 100 most influential white supremacists list, I promise I won’t question your worthiness, @IngrahamAngle.”
Just last week, rappers including Snoop Dogg and the Game called for Ingraham’s termination after she mocked Nipsey Hussle a day after his memorial service.
Fox News has not yet given a response regarding the controversy.
