WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- The fathers of Michael Jackson’s abuse victims–Wade Robson and Jordan Chandler– were reported to have ended their lives due to depression and guilt over their son’s alleged assault.
- Dennis Robson, Wade’s father, who had a bipolar disorder, hanged himself after suffering from mental breakdown.
- Evan Chandler, a dentist and Jordan’s dad, who was hated by Jackson’s fans for his sexual abuse accusations, shot himself at his apartment.
Wade Robson and Jordan Chandler’s fathers committed suicide after years of being riddled with guilt over their sons’ alleged sexual assault.
In the controversial ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary, Wade said that after his father suffered a mental breakdown in 2002, he hanged himself.
At that time, the Australian born choreographer claimed that the Thriller superstar never molested him. But during his 2013 civil case against Jackson, Wade, whose dad was bipolar, alleged that his father suffered from depression due to suspicions that he had been abused.
He went on to share that when his dad lived in LA, he would suffer from manic episodes and go on walks and ride buses through LA in the middle of the night, and they would have to go look for him.
“I think it terrified me but my reaction was just to get angry, and I just wanted him to go.”
On the other hand, Evan Chandler’s life started falling apart when his family was reportedly paid $23M by Jackson. His son, Jordan, became the first boy to step forward and accuse the singer of molestation in 1993. Their accusations and the scandals that followed made him an enemy of Jackson’s loyal fans.
Evan, a dentist, became infamous for asking his 13-year-old son, who was sedated during a dental procedure, whether Jackson ever touched his genitals.
Two months after Jackson was acquitted for another molestation charge, Evan viciously attacked his son with a dumbbell weight and Mace and also tried to strangle him. In turn, Jordan sued his dad and reportedly never forgave his troubled father before he died.
His brother Raymond related to the Daily Mail that due to multiple death threats, Evan had to undergo 19 plastic surgical operations to disguise his looks and even armed himself with a .38 caliber pistol due to fears of being killed by a Jackson fan.
Four months after Jackson died in 2009, Evan, who became a paranoid recluse, shot himself in the head at an apartment in Jersey City, New Jersey.
“The Jackson saga was like cancer in the family. We were never the same afterward,” said Raymond.
Both Dennis and Evan died alone and separated from their families.
