  • Fans of The Simpsons are claiming that the show predicted Richard Branson’s flight to space in one of their episodes that aired in 2014.
  • The fans are pointing out similarities between footage that shows Branson inside a spaceship and an image from one of the Simpson’s episodes.
  • The animated show has also predicted Donald Trump’s presidency.

Fans of The Simpsons are claiming that Richard Branson’s space sojourn was predicted by the show in 2014.

After predicting Trump’s presidency and several other global events, The Simpsons seem to have foretold yet another historical event in one of their episodes in 2014.

Billionaire business mogul Sir Richard Branson went on a trip to the edge of space aboard a Virgin Galactic ship last week. Branson was with five other team members on the company’s first fully crewed flight test.

Last Monday, Branson shared footage from the trip, and his followers noticed that a shot of him in the spaceship looked similar to a season 25 episode of The Simpsons which aired in 2014.

The episode from the animated sitcom titled “The War of Art” showed an animated Branson leaning back and admiring a painting while floating inside the spaceship, which looked very similar to the footage he shared last week.

Twitter users were quick to point out their observations. One Twitter user wrote, “So the @TheSimpsons predicted yet another thing that came true. @richardbranson making his flight into space for the #Unity22 launch,” alongside a meme of the two moments.

“How can The Simpsons show predict every damn thing?,” another Twitter user wrote.

Virgin Atlantic, Branson’s company, retweeted the meme with the applause emoji.

However, some critics are saying that anyone could have predicted Branson’s space trip as the Virgin Galactic was founded in 2004 and has since aimed to send tourists to space.

“When the Simpsons did their Richard Branson in space thing it was 2014; by that time Virgin Galactic was a thing and probably could easily be guessed by almost anyone. Not predicting the future, merely peering through the window,” said one user.

The Simpsons has also previously predicted Donald Trump’s presidency and has also correctly predicted the World Cup and Super Bowl winners.
