In South Africa, a wildlife rescuer received a call from a family who found a venomous snake slithering in their Christmas tree.

Gerrie Heyns, owner of the reptile rescue service Snake Lives Matter, said a family in the Western Cape area called him after they spotted the snake.

Heyns posted a video to his business’s YouTube channel showing how he captured the slithery guest.

The rescuer later posted another video showing him releasing the snake into the wild.

Heyns said it was the first time he’d been called to remove a snake from a Christmas tree.
