HERE’S THE SCOOP:
Westchase resident Michael Moffa hired a company to put up a light display on Nov. 6.
“That was their only availability, and I can’t climb up on the roof myself,” Moffa said.
Moffa said he doesn’t plan to take down the lights.
“The holidays and the pandemic, I think the kids are wanting something that’s more bright to look at,” he said.
Moffa said he didn’t know that he’d violated a rule by putting up decorations early until his family received a letter a few days later. His HOA bans homeowners from putting up decorations until Thanksgiving Day. According to the letter, the Moffas face a fine of 100 dollars a day, up to $1,000.
“Right before Christmas, who could be a grinch to hand this out?” Moffa said.
