A drunken dare got a Hull University student stuck in a dryer last week. Twenty-one-year-old Rosie Cole’s housemates couldn’t pull her out and had to call for the help of firefighters.
The Yorkshire undergrads had admittedly grown bored during the COVID-19 lockdown and managed to get their hands on a few bottles of Zinfandel wine. They had drunk honey tequila shots when they gave their dare to their friend.
The students believed there was “no chance” that their pal would fit.
Cole said she’d gotten her legs crossed behind her and wiggled both her hips in before she realized she couldn’t get back out. The dryer even tipped forward when she tried to free herself.
She started getting worried because her arms hurt trying to keep herself up and the inside of the dryer was “pretty hot.”
It took three firefighters to free Cole of her dryer prison. Cole and her friends thought, “they save cats from trees so maybe they could save students from tumble dryers.”
Lydia Dunwell, 21, was awakened by emergency sirens and was shocked by the sight of her roommate’s predicament. Of course, she immediately started filming.
The Newsflare video of the incident has since gone viral.
Dunwell couldn’t help but giggle when talking about how the other students called emergency services and how the person on the phone asked how old the person who got stuck in a dryer was.
Cole said that after the embarrassing incident, she “definitely won’t be trying it again.” She said it wasn’t one of her finest moments and will of course be leaving any mention of it “out of the CV.”
