A group of friends fishing for yellowfin tuna off the coast of Louisiana had an unexpected encounter with a massive school of sharks that surrounded their boat. The incident was captured on video and shared on TikTok by Kaitlyn Dix, who runs an Etsy shop selling shark-tooth jewelry.
Although Dix was more amazed than scared, many viewers were horrified by the sight of so many sharks so close to humans.

According to CBS News, the video was actually filmed by Dix’s boyfriend, Dillon May, who was equally stunned by the spectacle. The sharks were apparently in a feeding frenzy, but did not pose a threat to the fishermen, who got soaked by the water they were splashing around.
Despite the lack of danger, many viewers expressed fear and anxiety at the thought of being in such close proximity to so many sharks.
