At the Drury Beer Garden in Philadelphia, a gold-covered hamburger is redefining the idea of “luxury food.”
Priced at $700 and weighing 8 ounces, this lavish sandwich is known as the “Gold Standard.”
The Gold Standard is more than just a regular burger; it’s a culinary masterpiece comprising a variety of gourmet ingredients.
Constructed from high-quality Wagyu meat, the Gold Standard is further enriched with caviar and fresh black truffle.
In a decadent twist, lobster, flambéed with cognac, graces the top of the burger, followed by a layer of aged Irish cheddar, and a final drizzle of honey.
As a complementary side, the order includes fries and a 1-ounce pour of Louis XIII Cognac, a premium liquor known to cost around $5,000 per bottle.
George Tsiouris, co-owner of the Drury Beer Garden, expressed enthusiasm about the Gold Standard, stating it’s about “the joy of cooking.”
“We are excited to provide our guests some amazing, creative, and tasty options with our new menu concept,” he told a local news outlet.
Tsiouris, however, remained silent on the subject of the gratuity that would inevitably accompany a $700 sandwich bill, but it is known that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to parties of six or more.
