WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- GOP Nevada Congress hopeful Dennis Hof was found dead at his own brothel Tuesday
- The legal pimp died after a campaign rally the previous day, according to reports.
- American porn star Ron Jeremy discovered Hof’s body around 11 a.m. and officials said there were no signs of foul play.
Nevada Republican candidate and notorious pimp Dennis Hof was found dead Tuesday morning in bed at his own Love Ranch Vegas brothel. The 72-year-old spent his last hours with campaign rally guests including American political advocate Grover Norquist and porn actor Ron Jeremy.
Nye County spokesman Arnold Knightly told the Reno Gazette-Journal that the Nevada legislature hopeful “went to sleep last night and didn’t wake up.”
Chuck Muth, Hof’s campaign manager tweeted that he passed away but added that, “No other details at this point.”
“Ron Jeremy found him this morning when he went to wake him to go to a meeting,” Muth confirmed in a follow-up post.
Hof’s body was found shortly before 11 a.m., according to officials. There were no signs of foul play.
Muth said Hof was in good spirits during a campaign rally Monday night.
“He was having the time of his life last night. Grover Norquist was there. Ron Jeremy was there. He was given a rescue dog as a birthday present. He was having the time of his life.”
The Bunny Ranch brothel owner shocked the state over the summer when he won the primary election beating a Republican incumbent for the southern Nevada district.
Hof will still be listed on the ballot in November, but voters will be alerted at polling places in the district that he’s dead. Nevada deputy secretary of state for elections Wayne Thorley said that in case Hof wins, the seat would be considered vacant.
Hof’s Democratic opponent, Lesia Romanov was “stunned.”
“My heart goes out to those who care about him. All I can say is wow,” Romanov told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Hof owned seven legal brothels in Nevada and became famous because of reality TV, thanks to HBO’s “Cathouse: The Series,” which chronicled his Moonlite BunnyRanch.
Hof idolized President Donald Trump and calls himself “the Trump of Pahrump.” On his book, the “Art of the Pimp,” he wrote: “There is no business, like Ho business.”
