WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- An Israeli jeweler is designing a coronavirus mask with an 18-karat gold plate and 3,600 black and white diamonds.
- The jewelry company says the mask will be the world’s most expensive coronavirus mask worth $1.5 million.
- The mask’s designer said that it will be fitted with top-rated N99 filters at the request of the unidentified buyer.
The client’s running orders were: finish by the end of the year, and it should be the most expensive in the world!
Isaac Levy, owner of the Yvel company who was commissioned for the task is now working to fulfill the demands of the client.
You might be wondering how the world would react to such a grandiose display of wealth when it is suffering from the pandemic’s effects.
Levy says, “I am happy that this mask gave us enough work for our employees to be able to provide their jobs in very challenging times like these times right now.”
For that, he is thankful for the opportunity, he added.
For $1.5 million, the 18-karat gold mask will be encrusted with 3,600 white and black diamonds. Will it function as other masks would? Yes, as it is fitted with N99 filters.
Levy did not identify the buyer but hinted that he is a US-based Chinese businessman who specified that it should be the costliest coronavirus mask ever and should be done within the year.
During the interview, Levy displayed several pieces of the diamond-covered mask with one old plate that had a hole where the N99 filter would be.
With all its diamonds, it would weigh 270 grams or almost 100 times heavier than a regular surgical mask. It would also turn heads and stand out in a sea of facial protective gear whenever you wear it.
Levy said, “Money maybe doesn’t buy everything, but if it can buy a very expensive COVID-19 mask and the guy wants to wear it and walk around and get the attention, he should be happy with that.”
