Yes, you get to eat delicious steaks in a socially-distant indoor setting at Peter Luger Steak House in N.Y.C. with celebrities. The waxed ones.
When the pandemic hit, indoor dining was one of the restricted things to do. Occupancy should only be at 25% capacity. But New York City has just eased it up to 35%.
Daniel Turtel, Vice President of Peter Luger says that the restaurant industry is vital to the economy of New York and it was hit hard in 2020.
“We’re excited to welcome diners back indoors at 35 percent, and thought this would be a fun, safe way to fill some of the seats that need to remain empty as we continue to fight the pandemic. It has been wonderful working with the fabulous team at Madame Tussauds New York,” added Turtel.
You heard it right. The seats will be filled up with wax figures of A-listers customers like Audrey Hepburn, Jimmy Fallon, and Jon Hamm.
According to their press release, “Diners are invited to toast with Jon Hamm at the bar, enjoy a moment of elegance with Audrey Hepburn, or share a laugh with Jimmy Fallon. Al Roker is also waiting to direct diners to the second floor.”
But you cannot just walk in there. You have to book at the Peter Luger Steak House’s website before you can have that unique dining experience with the waxed ones.
If you are not able to dine with them at the Steak House, catch them at the newly-opened Madame Tussauds New York which has new safety and cleaning protocols.
“Locals” can tour the museum for a special price of $29.99. By locals, it means residents of New York’s five boroughs, New Haven, Connecticut’s Fairfield, and New Jersey counties.
