- Gayle King said Oprah herself described the sit-down as “the best interview she’s ever done.”
Sunday on CBS, the first teaser for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey aired during 60 Minutes.
During the preview of Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special, Oprah said that no subject would be off-limits in the interview. For the interview, Meghan and Harry have individual talks with Winfrey and a joint sit-down as well.
CBS said in a statement that Winfrey speaks to Meghan about a wide range of topics like “stepping into life as a Royal” and “handling life under intense public pressure.” Prince Harry later joins in as they talk about their move to the US and their hopes for their growing family.
A second preview was also shown in the broadcast of 60 Minutes.
Harry, again a father-to-be, is expecting his second child with Meghan. During the preview, he says his biggest concern was history repeating itself. In the second preview, which also aired during the broadcast of 60 Minutes, Harry talked about his late mother, Princess Diana.
He told Winfrey about the public scrutiny his mother had to deal with “going through this process by herself all those years ago.” Harry says that he’s just “really relieved and happy” that he’s having this interview with Winfrey with his wife beside him. “Because it has been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we have each other.”
On CBS This Morning, Winfrey’s close friend, Gayle King, teased the interview, saying that Oprah described it as “the best interview she’s ever done.”
