WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- Three-time Grammy winner Pink once again called out President Trump while making fun of the low audience turnout at his Tulsa rally.
- The singer joked that “there’s a lot of people dressed as seats.”
- She then argued that “no good person” would ask their supporters to gather amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Social media users have long been familiar with Pink calling out President Donald Trump on her platform.
So when Trump’s Tulsa rally had a low audience turnout amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and racial protests, the three-time Grammy winner made sure to point it out and make fun of it.
Pink shared a clip of CNN‘s coverage and captioned it: “I think I sold that same place out in five minutes. #donkeyshow”
She can then be heard commenting in the background, “I don’t know, there’s a lot of people dressed as seats. Maybe they’re in catering.”
Trump supporters rushed to the president’s defense and argued, “No, that theory would be that the pandemic played a part in it. Does that work, has been?”
But Pink clapped back: “Here’s my theory; don’t hurt the people that love you. I would never ask people to come to an arena right now. No good person would.”
Pink herself, and her three-year-old son Jameson, had recovered from COVID-19 just a few months prior.
She then made two separate $500,000 donations to healthcare funds while criticizing Trump’s handling of the crisis.
Pink wrote, “It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible. This illness is serious and real.”
“People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities,” she continued.
Pink commented on Trump’s supporters earlier this month in a Twitter post that read: “People who love trump at this point are an insult to humanity, goodness and human rights. And there’s less and less of them every single day.”
