Track Palin, eldest son of Sarah Palin, former governor and Republican vice presidential candidate, got arrested Friday after reportedly assaulted someone at his home, state police detailed.
Palin, 29, of Wasilla, Alaska, was arrested for domestic violence suspicion, obstructing report of domestic aggression, and resisting arrest among other allegations, Alaska State Troopers reported on Saturday.
During the attack, a female friend attempted to call police but Palin took her phone away.
According to KTUU, NBC News affiliate, Palin was brought to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility after his arrest and was apprehended for $500 bond.
In his court appearance, Saturday, Palin pleaded “not guilty, for sure,” KTUU added.
Palin may be charged with three Class A misdemeanors, punishable by one year imprisonment with $25,000 fine, and a Class B misdemeanor, punishable by one day in jail and a $2,000 fine, KTUUsaid.
Sarah Palin did not react immediately to a request for comment. It was not specifically clear if Palin hired an attorney. Alaska State Troopers also did not respond directly to a request for more information.
Last year, Track Palin was detained on suspicion of domestic violence against his father.
He was accused of felony, burglary assault in the fourth degree and criminal offense for causing property damage in Wasilla, Alaska, as per court records. Palin’s dad, Todd Palin, was the victim in the case currently listed before Veteran’s Court, KTUU narrated.
In January 2016, Palin was also arrested in Wasilla for assault, impeding domestic violence report and misconduct involving weapons.
Based on court documents, Palin’s girlfriend reported to police that she was struck on the left side of her head near the eye with a closed fist causing her to fall.
Palin pleaded guilty to misconduct for possessing a weapon while intoxicated, but his domestic violence charges were later dismissed by prosecutors, court records show online.
Sarah Palin implied that her son’s arrest emanated from post-traumatic stress disorder after a year-long Iraq military deployment.
