Picture this: You’ve just purchased a charming 19th-century Victorian house nestled in the picturesque Malvern Hills of England.

You’re ready to dive headfirst into renovations when, lo and behold, you discover a quaint little well right smack dab in the middle of your kitchen.

Yes, you read that right—a well! Time to make a wish, anyone?

This bizarre scenario is the reality for Emma Harrison and her partner Rhys Stainer, the new owners of said home and the intrepid explorers behind the viral TikTok account @victoriahouseinthehillls.

Their well discovery video has racked up a whopping 886,000 views and counting.

“When we first viewed the house, the well was one of the coolest features we found,” Harrison said.

And honestly, who needs a kitchen island when you can have a well? Talk about a conversation starter!

The well, surprisingly in fantastic condition, might be the most unique feature in the property, originally built in 1897 as a house-shop combo.

Harrison and Stainer are keen to give the well “the attention it deserves,” and who knows? They might even discover “any hidden gems down there.”

To say that the couple has their work cut out for them is an understatement.

Apart from the well, the house also boasts a “big ol’ creepy cellar,” a utility space featuring “half a shower and a toilet in the middle of the room,” and some “interestingly colored walls and fireplaces.”

However, the pair remain unfazed, planning to kick off their kitchen renovations next month.

One ingenious idea the couple has in mind for their subterranean kitchen centerpiece? Turning it into a bona fide feature with a glass top and mood lighting.

Now that’s what I call a well-lit kitchen!

But before they can do that, they decided to go on a little adventure, lowering a red mug tied to a string into the 20-foot deep well.

While they didn’t pull up a magic lamp with a resident genie, they did manage to give their followers a thrill.

TikTok users were quick to weigh in on the unique find.

Some were all for it, like Lox RingaKati, who commented: “Yeeah that’ll be cool with lights and glass top…”

Others, like user hay_l3y_26, chimed in with a more macabre take: “You just know people died in that well.”

And let’s not forget the inevitable comparisons to the horror film ‘The Ring’.

Jokes and spookiness aside, we’re all eagerly watching @victoriahouseinthehills’ renovation journey.

After all, it’s not every day you get to see a home renovation with such, well, depth.
