WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- An Amazon deliveryman was caught on tape leaning over a package he delivered, spit on the box and smeared it with his hand.
- Amazon’s Customer Service Representative has filed a complaint against the deliveryman, who worked for a third-party service.
- “Purposeful exposure and infection of others [with coronavirus]” leads to terrorism charges as per the new memorandum from the Justice Department.
An Amazon deliveryman is seen spitting, smearing his saliva using his hand on a package he delivered on the front porch for one customer. The incident was caught by a doorbell camera Thursday evening in the Hancock Park neighborhood, Los Angeles.
Marcus Martinez tweeted about the delivery mishap, saying “I received the box and saw a big wet spot and then checked the camera!”
In the video footage, the deliveryman wearing a vest supporting the Amazon logo on the back leaned over the package to spit on the box before wiping it with his hand. The delivery man goes on to take a picture of the box after the affront.
Amazon’s Customer Service Representative has readied a complaint after the resident has contacted the company and sent the video footage of the incident. The company followed through and lodged the complaint against the deliveryman, who worked for a third-party service.
One of the neighbors also posted the tracking photo of the delivered item, along with a message to Amazon, saying “I’d like to believe this was an honest mistake. PLEASE make sure your staff is educated and taking all the necessary precautions!”
The representative to Amazon has responded to the incident, writing the position of the company.
“This is clearly not representative of drivers who deliver for Amazon and the care they take for customers around the world every day.”
The statement went on to say that the company is investigating the situation, adding: “If it truly was a malicious act by the driver, we will be sure he is held accountable, up through and including law enforcement action.”
The Judiciary has released a memorandum order, those who intentionally spread the coronavirus will face terrorism charges for the “purposeful exposure and infection of others,” CNN reported.
