This is a child and you are going to charge him with murder? So take him away from mother and put him foster care when his issues will only worsen and probably be abused by the system. He obviously needs help but not from a system that is way past broken. This world has lost any kind of hope with the way things are going. It is completely upside down and inside out.

He should of received help before disaster strikes. A whole family is dead. Now your worried about him? What about taking some personal responsibility? Sounds like the mother is unfit.

Absolutely true. That he is mentally ill is a given. But he is 10 years old and schizoid, he needs help, and extensive therapy. Think how he will feel, if he is ever cured, years from now.
When I was a fire chief a number of years back saw almost the same thing happen, with a 11 year old girl in a neighboring town. She was instututionalized and somewhat ignored by the system.
There is no real answer to the vast number of mentally challenged people in our society today.

He’s 9. He needs help. He needs love. He needs to know that there’s still so much good in him. He can grow up to be a great young man. At least we know I’m gonna see them babies in Heaven when Jesus Christ calls me home. Show him love mama. He needs it.

This is what happens when mental illness goes untreated. The mother is the one that made a mistake and should be charged. I hope they can live with their mistake. Now people are dead because of it! Shameful!

How do you figure the mother should be held responsible? The article says he was diagnosed with major mental problems, so he must have had a therapist. The therapist probably placed him on meds. The meds maybe the problem, or his pretending to take them, and not taken them. More information needs to be obtained before a sound judgement of who or what is at fault. Then a verdict in the court of public opinion can be rendered.

Oh My- I really know what he did is Horrific but He has a Mental illness and unless he get good help and the right Meds he will never get better. I had a friend that son was autistic and he was fascinated with fire and set a few when he was pretty young ! He went to stay with a Good Center and got him help . Well he is all grown up and actually has a job. This young boy needs lots of patience -love and special needs. He may never really understand what he did . God Bless him and family !

The little boy is 9 years of age, he’s got adhd, I have had 1 boy with that very severe, and lit my tree on fire a bag full of brand new school clothes, he grew up fine they need to help him not punish him I think the laws on kids is rediculas and they also need to return him to his mother, it’s a terrible accedent that’s happened and this little boy has to live with it for the rest of his life, our country offers no rehabilitation for convicts and the prison system is horrible
