WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:
- After casting her vote early, Jennifer Aniston posted on Instagram that she voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
- Her post also dealt on women’s rights to decide on their bodies, racism, and the government’s response to the coronavirus.
- Lastly, she asked her followers to be responsible and that voting for Kanye West is not funny.
Jennifer Aniston has been vocal about her political views. She has not backed down against Trump, the government’s response to the coronavirus and other issues, and now discourages voters from voting for Kanye West.
After she dropped her ballot, and while outside the drop-off location, Aniston posted on Instagram: “#IVOTED for @joebiden and @kamalaharris. I dropped my ballot off, and I did it early.”
She continued, referring to the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic: “I voted for them because right now this country is more divided than ever. Right now, a few men in power are deciding what women can and can’t do with their own bodies. Our current President has decided that racism is a non-issue. He has repeatedly and publicly ignored science … too many people have died.”
She also asked her followers to “really consider” who will be affected “most” by the 2020 chosen candidate.
In part, her post reads: “Your daughters, the LGBTQ+ community, our Black brothers and sisters, the elderly with health conditions, and your future kids and grandkids (who will be tasked with saving a planet that our leadership refuses to believe is hurting).”
She ended her post with: “PS – It’s not funny to vote for Kanye. I don’t know how else to say it. Please be responsible.”
When West announced his presidential bid on Independence Day, he already faced difficulties in getting his name on the ballot. Virginia and Arizona, have blocked his candidacy. He has also been vocal about his support for President Trump and Democrats see Kanye’s bid as a way to re-channel votes from Biden.
It was in one of his campaign stops that he opened up about his thoughts on abortion which made him very emotional. “I cried at the thought of aborting my firstborn and everyone was so concerned about me … I’m concerned for the world that feels you shouldn’t cry about this subject.”
His unabashed crying and emotional state led to speculations about his health. This was also the first time that Kim Kardashian, his wife, talked about Kanye’s struggle with bipolar disorder.
