Roc Nation artist gets bitten in the face by a snake during music video shoot [Video]

WHAT’S BEING CLAIMED:

  • Singer Maeta has shared a video of herself being bitten in the face by a snake while shooting a music video.
  • In the video, Maeta is seen lying on the floor with a snake resting on her body when it suddenly attacks and bites her face.
  • Maeta, who was signed to Jay Z’s label Roc Nation, immediately yanked the snake away.

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation artist Maeta has shared a video of the scary moment a snake bit her while shooting a music video this week.

The 21-year-old singer posted a black-and-white, behind-the-scenes clip of the scene on Instagram.

“What I go through to make videos for y’all,” she captioned her video. She has since turned off comments for the post.

The quick clip had the R&B singer laying on a carpet where she rocked a braid and lace bodysuit. Two snakes were placed on top of her — and one bit her on the chin. She jumped away, seemingly avoiding any major injury. No word yet on whether the snake was venomous.

The “Habits” songstress signed to Jay-Z’s label back in April. Before hitting it big, Maeta shared her music on SoundCloud and Instagram.

The Indianapolis native released her debut EP “Do Not Disturb” in 2019 and “Habits” in May of this year.

According to the Roc Nation website, Maeta grew up with artistic parents as her mom is a visual artist and her father plays the drums.

She attributes her music sound to R&B artists such as Kid Cudi, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé and SZA.

“These influences, her natural singing ability and the fact that she is a self-proclaimed ‘daydreamer’ who ‘falls in love too fast’ and is drawn to sad songs, brought her to the sound you hear today,” her bio reads, “blending pop and soul with lyrics that allow Maeta to be a voice for those who struggle to express their emotions.”
