Santa Claus is gay and gets a boyfriend in new Christmas commercial

  • Norway released a new Christmas commercial showing Santa Claus kissing his new boyfriend.
  • The Norwegian Postal Service is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the decriminalization of same sex relationships in the country with the holiday ad.
  • In the commercial, titled “When Harry Met Santa,” Santa Claus finds himself falling in love with ‘Harry’ whose home he visits each year.

Posten, the Norwegian Postal Service, is celebrating the upcoming 50th anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in Norway with a heartwarming holiday advertisement.

In the ad, titled “When Harry Met Santa,” Saint Nick finds himself falling in love with a man whose home he visits each year.

In the four-minute clip, Santa watches Harry sleep, enjoys a beverage with him and jokes around with this man. Harry, meanwhile, is heartbroken that he must wait so long in-between visits.

The pair first meet accidentally while a shirtless Harry is grabbing a glass of water on Christmas Eve as Santa leaves presents in a nearby room. The two lock eyes briefly before Santa disappears up the chimney — and fireworks appear in the sky.

Their exchanges continue to happen over the years, with Harry making extra effort to look nice for his annual romantic meeting with Santa. In one emotional farewell, he lets Kriss Kringle know that he’ll miss him.

The following year, we see Harry writing a letter to Santa, letting him know that, “All I want for Christmas is you.”

Harry anxiously awaits Santa’s return each year following their initial meeting, and the pair’s bond continues to deepen with each passing year, making their time apart increasingly difficult.

At the end, Santa tells Harry, “Well, I arranged some help this year, so I can be with you,” and then the two kiss.

The video did spark some criticism from people who thought Santa and his relationship with Mrs. Claus were sacred.

“Sorry but the advert that Santa gets a boyfriend is a bit uneasy especially for kids …….#SantaClaus,” one critic wrote on Twitter.

“Norway giving Santa a boyfriend is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in a while,” another person added on Twitter.

While not everyone loved it, the commercial was mostly met with praise.
